Its reading week at my kids school this week. Tuesday was "Hats off to reading Day". Hanna and Jake wore hats. Carter sat this one out. Are fourth graders TC for this stuff? (Too Cool?)

Hanging with Josh
I love when I take the time to do something fun with Josh. He often gets carted around to the different errands we have to run during the week and rarely gets his own thing. Our Music Makers group went to the Fire Station on Wednesday for a field trip. He was a cutie. On the way there in the car he said "Mom I love Tole (Cole), and Nanna (hanna), and Hakey (Jakey), and Tarter, (Carter), and Hesus (Jesus), and mama, and dadda, and Santa. And I love you Josh, I don't think there is a sweeter 3 year old in the world!
THE WALL
While I was vacationing in the South East, Jared held down the fort here at home. He had the week off and we decided it would be a good time to tackle the wall shelf that we have been talking about doing in Carter's room for some time now. It turned into a bigger project than he had anticipated, (doesn't it always?)but I LOVE, LOVE, the result!! He actually had to rip out the bottom half of the wall and start over with new dry wall. The boys had a great time taking a hammer to the wall and going crazy destroying the room, except for Carter who gets a little anxious whenever we change anything, so as you can imagine ripping a wall out of his room was not his favorite thing to see. Jared had to finally ask him to leave the room. You are the best honey and no he is not for hire, I have too many other projects lined up for him! As for Carter, he has warmed up to the new look to his room and loves the new Bionicle pictures we found for him on line and framed. We still have to put those up so no picture of those yet!

Georgia
Hanna, Cole and I traveled north 3 and a half hours from my sister Kim's house to Columbus Georgia where some best friends of ours live. I got pulled over on the way, but thankfully the cop only gave me a warning, (I've been working on batting my eyes and flirting) It was a pretty smooth trip, but the last 15 minutes I started getting really nervous. We had planned to surprise Lisa. Chris had been helping me plan it. So as we pull up to Columbus, I see a red minivan on the freeway just like theirs. That's weird, I think as I get closer and low and behold as I am parallel to them I see Chris driving it. He looks over at me and I wave while slamming on the brakes and hoping Lisa didn't see me. So he speeds up to try and beat me home! Anyway, we killed some time before perching Cole on their doorstep ringing the doorbell and hiding in the bushes. It was great fun to surprise Lisa, but she definitely had figured out that something was going on. Chris had been acting way too fishy and she was starting to get mad at him even! Good times.
Lisa was still in every day mode while I was there with kids to pick up, young women's activities, scout field trips, basketball games.....etc. Sounds a lot like my life! I guess that is why I enjoy visiting with her so much.....we have so many things in common and so many of the same interests. Hot topics this visit were Young Womens ideas and being at the end of the child bearing years. It was so fun to see her beautiful house decorated with her "Lisa style", her neighborhood, her friends, her kids, and everything about her life. Hanna enjoyed playing with Katie, Emily, and Megan nonstop. Katie missed school for two days while we were there for optimal playing time. They enjoyed getting matching shirts and necklaces at Justice for Girls and playing twins one day. But Hanna's favorite activity was definitely going to their horseback riding lessons with them. She wishes Las Vegas was closer to Georgia....don't we all!!

Florida
Last week I was spoiled by going on a fun trip with Hanna and Cole! I have never seen my sister Kim's house in Florida, so I decided to make the trek. We have actually been planning it for some time now. Before the baby was born Hanna and I made big plans to go on a girl trip and show off our new baby sister....but you know that story already....(hopefully you aren't rolling your eyes and saying not this again!) Anyway, we decided to make the trip and show off our new baby brother! cole and Hanna were easy travelers on the plane. Hanna was excited to fly since she hasn't for such a long time and much to her brothers dismay her report via the cell phone shortly after landing was "its not that fun flying...its boring most of the time except for the take off and landing", I tend to agree with her. So we made it to the miniature Fort Walton airport and after a short delay from not locating the "you can't miss it" rental car parking lot, we were on our way. We had to laugh at our bright red chevy HHR "clown car".
We drove north to Crestview where we immediately noticed the thousands of trees everywhere and even though the Floridians were claiming its winter and not very green, we Las Vegans new immediately that we were not in the desert anymore!! It was fun to be reunited with Kim and her family. Her kids seem to have grown up on me! I had so much to talk to with my two nieces who are in Young Women's. We spent the night comparing Young Women's in their ward and mine. We also toured the local Walmart where we picked out a movie to watch together, bought make-up together and I tried to convince them to get new bras. They didn't like the double D purple one I was trying to convince them they had to have!!
On Sunday they were great hosts and had some mutual friends over for a "FUNdue night". The Burbidges were in our ward in Maryland during Medical School. They have recently moved to Florida. Its fun to have a friend that my sister and I share since she is 8 years older than I we haven't always had that. They made the best fondue sauces and dips. Hello yummy! Melting Pot look out! Hanna was in heaven playing with the Burbidge kids and her cousins Andrew and Aaron. The older cousins loved to dote on Hanna. They did her hair for me and made her earrings!
Alyssa and Audrey love you guys -- I'm sending the purple bra in case you change your minds!
On Monday we headed to Destin Beach. So fun!! So windy though, so we didn't stay long on the beach for Cole's sake. You really can't fathom the white sand until you see it. The water has a greenish tint to it and is so beautiful. They call it the "Emerald Coast". We ate lunch at a place called "Fud Puckers" (i don't recommend saying that fast 5 times in a row) which had an alligator pool. They didn't come out much because of the cold weather, but the manager got one out for us and I got some fun pictures.

On Tuesday, Kim and Ken got the day off and they let the kids play hookie from school. I felt honored that I was school skipping material:) We played Settlers and went for a walk and just hung out at home. That evening we all watched our move together..."Another Cinderella Story". The next morning, Hanna and I got up with them for morning prayer before school and seminary.....at 5:15am and let me tell you I am not looking forward to when my kids are in seminary! I was sooo tired! They were all off for their day and back to the grind. It was a little tearful saying goodbye. We just don't see them very much. They loved having little Cole there. They haven't had a baby around for a long time!! Thanks for such a fun trip Hamms! We hope to do it again soon and bring Carter!! We packed up the clown car and headed north to Georgia.

Look Who's THREE!!!!
Joshy you are so fun right now. We love to watch you open presents. We would love to freeze frame you at this age for a little longer. You are such a sweet boy. We enjoyed a fun day taking you out for McDonalds for lunch, to the park for fun, and fixed you some of your favorite foods for dinner; jam sandwiches and bacon of all things. Your fun presents were a new outfit, red dragon, Indiana Jones whip, Bob the Builder movie, and your favorite a Superman guy to go with your Bat Cave! Daddy worked his magic once again with the picture perfect cake for you. We love you so much, Happy Birthday little man!!

A tissue anyone??
Want a recipe for a good cry? Baptize your only daughter and Bless your last baby all on the same weekend. Invite lots of friends and family and the spirit to be there. Dress them all in white and then attend these beautiful events NOT WEARING MASCARA!! It was an awesome weekend, but it sure was emotional! Thanks to all our family who traveled near and far to attend...we love you.

Hanna's Baptism
Hanna's baptism was so nice. We were lucky that she was the only one from our ward getting baptized that day, so she pretty much had the day to her self. We made and showed her baptism cd. I let Jared do all of it this time. He did an amazing job! It brought such a nice spirit into the room as she prepared to get confirmed. She is such a blessing in our home. It was a very emotional day for me to see my only little girl grow up....I think Heavenly Father knew I was only going to get one girl and so he made her pretty special. We adore you princess thanks for being you.
