Halloween 2014

045 copy

We had preschool at our house the week of Halloween.  We got to dress up for preschool and make sugar cookies!  These little preschoolers are so cute together!  Maddi, Grace, Jonathan, and Cole.

We could not have found a more perfect costume for Cole.  He has gotten a new costume for the past few birthdays just in time for Halloween!  My boys are real dresser uppers.  They love a good costume.  They NEVER need an excuse to dress up.  Halloween is just an added bonus with lots of candy!

Jake went as Gandolf with homemade beard from mom (don’t look too close)!  Josh decided to be Robin Hood definitely inspired from our visit to Carcassonne earlier in the year where Robin Hood “Prince of Thieves” was filmed.  Cute costumes this year!

Carter had a dress-up stake dance to attend, and decided to go as a Monk.  Also the theme of a big project for an Ancient Civilization Class at school.  Hanna came up with her own costume this year:  “Death by Algebra”!

This is one of my favorite houses in Germany!  We see it when we drive to the Tintles or the Flakes house.  I love it.  It is located in the village of Glanmuch-Weiler.  It is on a beautiful drive.  The leaves were just turning so I decided to get a quick picture on the way home from taking the Tintles family pictures.

The Trunk or Treat

The Trunk or Treat is always a big event our family looks forward to.  This year the young men and women were in charge of the Haunted Alley.  Jared and the Young Men did a great job this year.  It was very creative.  They had them go under the stage to the basement room and up through the hallway to the primary rooms.  The kids loved it (the youth as well as the little ones!

Of course the candy is the main focus of the event.  The boys love their candy…..literally.  Good times, Halloween always is.

Witches Night Out 2014

399 copy

A couple of us threw together the Witches Night Out party at the last minute.  The kids can’t have all the fun right?  It was a great night.  I was able to reserve the back room at our favorite German restaurant: Burgschanke.  It was free to have the back room.  The Germans kept coming back to take a peek at us “weird, crazy, dressed up American ladies”.  I’m not sure they’ve seen the likes of this before!  We had fun and that’s all that matters right?  The restaurant is perfect.  Its like an old castle in there.  Perfect setting!

Jeanie, Kari and I decided to make skirts for the occasion…thank you Jen and Whitney for the idea!

Fall

Fall in Germany means awesome leaves, coloring of the spirit stick, soccer, and school activities!  Love it!

As the weather gets bad and the rains come……the spirit stick loses its color.  Every fall the spirit stick gets recolored to liven the spirits of the village.
