Brothers gotta hug......
....and tackle, wrestle, tease, jump, climb, destroy, hit, roll, and be cute together. I tried to take some nice calm pictures of the boys in their new church shirts today after church. Something about being in church for three hours made them not want to have anything to do with sitting or calm so we explored other options for the photo shoot, including taking off the shirts. Their idea, not mine. I LOVE my boys, they are full of energy and fun!

All about Colette
My sister in law Colette has been asking me to post some pictures of my house for some time now. I have procrastinated this assignment from her because I don't feel as though I am done decorating. And I feel silly posting pictures of my house for some reason, besides lets face it its rarely tidy enough for me to want to take pictures! Anyway, I adore Colette. She is so fun to be around and she sincerely wants to know all about our family every time she calls. She is very intersted in other people. She's very genuine and fun. She may not love this picture I have to post of her, but it does illustrate her funside. I included some pics of two of her darling kids (the other two were on a ride at the time). This was in November on our family trip to DLand. She started the "Confection Frenzy" of '07 as it may be known from here on out. While visiting the Pooh Bear Characters she bought sweets for her family....we all followed suit and soon sugar and treats were everywhere!
I've Been Tagged
Alright, I've been tagged by my foreign friend Missy. Okay so she's not foreign, but she lives in England and that makes her cool. She tagged me quite awhile ago. Its taken me this long to get the guts to post these quirky things about myself, because if you had your suspisions about me being a little weird before, for sure this post could seal the deal for some of you. First the rules:
The Rules:
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
1. I have a thing for numbers. I can remember phone numbers and birthdays without really trying. I usually find out when a person's birthday is and then it commits itself to my memory. For example: Lisa Curran Mar. 9th or close to it, Lisa Johnson Nov. 15th, Terri Breinholt May 11thish, and Missy White April 25thish. I can also remember a lot of your kids birthdays. (Ryan 6/23, Wesley 3/29?, Kenah 9/24thish, and Stefani Shelton you are easy- you, Troy and Will are in October, the rest of you Memorial day weekend!) My friend Marlina easy as pie: November 22nd, Lance 7/4, Kiely 8/7, Dustin 5/28, Andrew 10/8ish, Hailey 7/6. Okay, so you get the picture, its a little freaky. And in case you're wondering it doesn't translate to historical dates. I totally wish it did.
2. As a child I was accident prone. Before I entered third grade, I had already been in a collision with a car; car vs. 'Big wheel' to be exact! Fell out of a tree house and landed on my back - rushed to hospital for spine x-rays. Got in a major bike accident and landed myself with stitches in my lower lip. Not to mention a few close calls of near drownings in the neighborhood pool. Somehow I came out without any broken bones and have yet to break anything.
3. I'm somewhat of a lucky bugger. I guess that explains # 2. I was relaying this info to my husband the other night while I whooped him in Yahtzee. I got 4 Yahtzees in one game and ended with a total of 541. A personal best. I'll spare you the picture of my score card, I may have it framed next time you visit. (I never beat my husband at anything). I also won a bank as a child at a work function of my dad's, A quilt at a family reunion (my one ticket drawn out of like 200 or so) and $70 dollars at a slot machine in Virginia City. My sister didn't know how they worked and so I was showing her with one or two quarters, and out popped $70 dollars worth of quarters. And this luck extends to speeding tickets. I've only recieved one ever. Not that I haven't been pulled over lots of times, they just never give me a ticket. Those of you that know me well, are dumbfounded because I drive "like a bat out of he**) most of the time. Jared says now that I've posted this, I'm going to get a ticket. (I'll keep you updated!)
4. My least favorite color is red/orange. Its that mostly red, red that is almost orange at the exact same time. If you are having a hard time picturing what color I'm talking about, drive to your nearest TARGET and look, well, just about anywhere, on the registers, on the food court, at the return counter. You'd think this would deter me from shopping there, but oh, no I have a theory that it puts people into a shopping induced trance and you never want to leave. Forcing you to buy more. Maybe not, but I think I've tried that excuse before on Jared after one of my many spendy trips there. My other least favorite color is "sh** brindle brown", but you'd have to get the full story from my mom on that one. Its a color her and her 5 sisters made up for anything that was ugly yellowish brown. (oh yeah, and I used to swear, but not so much anymore)
5. I have a foot fettish. Its really annoying. I examine peoples feet. I find myself staring at peoples feet all the time. I had a roommate at BYU who did the exact same thing with people's hands. I remember what peoples feet look like too. Must be categorized right next to the birthdays in my head. I've learned to over compensate by buying shoes (I LOVE SHOES!!) and playing soccer.
6. I am somewhat of an insomniac. I sleep really light and if I get woken up I have a hard time getting back to sleep. I attribute it to having 4 babies who were horrible sleepers and woke me up constantly while nursing and even extended beyond the first year for some of them. Snoring wakes me(from Jared not myself), needing a drink, needing to go to the bathroom, any noises...etc.) I rarely sleep through the night ever. That explains why during the day....I'm always tired, start falling asleep if I ever sit down longer than 10 minutes, or if I try to watch TV, I fall asleep. If I do try to take a nap I usually fall asleep right away, but then get woken up by the phone, or a kid, and then the insomnia kicks in again, and I can't fall back asleep. Its vicious cycle!
So there you have it. If you don't think I'm weird, you at least think I'm long winded. Now I tag, Mom, dad, Anthony, Kim, Kandra, and Patrick. Now maybe I can get those of you who haven't started your personal blogs to do so!!

Joshy's Birthday party
As soon as Josh woke up from his nap and saw his presents, he could not stop holding them. He was good about not opening them even though one of them kept talking to him every time he shook it in a voice that sounded just like ElMO! When we finally put his baseball cake in front of him he squealed in delight. Then when daddy lit the first candle he immediately blew it out. So we all said "not yet Joshy!" Then daddy relit it and he blew it out again! Then he finally realized after we all said again, "not yet Joshy", that they all had to be lit before he could blow them out. After he opened his presents, he played basketball all night. After every basket, he would clap along with the rest of us. What a cute boy!!

Getting a Winter Fix
We snuck up to Mt. Charleston after church today for some winter fun. We love having 9:00 church now. We feel like we will have more time to got for drives and explore the area. We plan on going back on a Saturday to do it right with sleds and all our winter gear. The kids still had fun even though we only stayed our for about 30 minutes. Its nice to be able to 'visit' winter and then come back to 50 degree weather!
