yummy!

Okay so I'll try to keep this light. Jared says I "overshared" on my last post. He's probably right. I'm usually more reserved than that. Anyway, tomorrow were having board meeting for my Young Women leaders. I made these handouts for them. Maybe its because I'm pregnant and hot (we hit 90 again today), but these looked quite yummy when I got done putting them together!

Story Time

So I'm generally a fairly private person, but with blogs and such I feel like life is more of an open book these days so here is a bit of info on the last 5 days of crazy at the Chugg house: So after having 4 healthy children and pregnancies, when I got pregnant with my 5th, I admit I felt a little twinge of anxiety and have found myself wondering a lot, What if its our turn? What if I have a miscarriage or complications? Well, we told no one including parents until around 12 weeks. We had an ultrasound right before and everything looked good so we felt it was time to break the news. So two days after I posted it or rather Joshy posted it, we found ourselves in the ER. (Sidenote: we did not have a miscarriage that day just so you continue reading without a sick feeling). I had gone running that morning and as soon as I got home started feeling crampy. I tried to ignore it, but two hours later, the bleeding started. Not just a little enough to raise significant concern and rush yourself to the hospital. I chalked it up to a miscarriage and tried to prepare myself for that the whole 25 minute drive in. Jared had the ultrasound tech and room waiting for me ( a definite perk to a husband in Radiology). I climbed up on the table and immediately informed them I did not want to see the screen (or my dead baby). So as not to draw out the story much longer after they finished the ultrasound exam I asked Jared if the baby was dead. And he replied, no the baby looks great! I was shocked to say the least and still very skeptical seeing as I was still bleeding heavily and kept thinking: Yeah, but for how much longer. Anyway, after 4 hours in the ER, one pelvic exam, an IV, and lots of blood work, we left the ER with no cramping and very little bleeding. PHEW!! What we did learn however, is that I have placenta previa (where the placenta is completely covering the cervical opening. They believe I ruptured a blood vessel from the placenta while running that morning and the uterus has to get that blood out. So hopefully we are okay for a while. I have had some bleeding on and off over the last few days which is normal with this condition. After researching Placenta Previa I have learned that: Bed Rest, Bleeding, premature birth, and C section are all possibilities. Lucky us. They don't put you on bed rest this early, they just let you misscarry if you have too many problems. But they did tell me no impact exercise and no SEX for awhile. (Ahhhh lets all pause and feel bad for Jared for a moment!) Whatever, he doesn't have to have a period for 6 months-which I might add is one of the only perks to being pregnant-not having a period! So much for that "healthy pregnancy" I was planning and hello 50 pounds of baby weight. If it means that we can get through this and have a healthy baby, I would put on 80 pounds. Misscarriage is still a real possibility unfortuneatly. Its also a possibility that the placenta will grow up with the uterus over the following weeks and by the time we deliver, won't be a threat anymore. Were praying and hoping for that. So there you have it. We would appreciate any extra prayers at this time. Thanks everyone!

Earning his WOLF

Its a tradition at our pack meetings to make the boys find their WOLF badges in plastic bags hidden in a whipping cream pie. Since the Pack Meeting was also the pinewood derby this month, they skipped that tradition. Bummer for Carter since he earned his WOLF this month. So his Daddy decided to do it for him at home. All the kids had so much fun watching him and pushing the button to make it come out that they decided to get in on the action. Joshy's expressions were the best while they each took a turn, but he did not want a turn of his own!!

The Skunk

Carter nicknamed his pinewood derby car the skunk. He did great this year. I'm not sure who took it more serious: Jared or him. He won 3 out of 4 of his races -great job buddy!!

Carter, Jared, Caleb, and Isaac -- Scout buddies!

Joshy has something to say!

I love boots, hats and gloves right now! I'm rarely seen without at least one of them. I love yard work gloves, soccer goalie gloves, and skeleton gloves. I wear my favorite cowboy boots and rain boots at least once every day. My favorite hats are my brother's baseball hats and cubscout hat. I also recently discovered this helmet.
Oh and by the way, I'M GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER FOR HALLOWEEN THIS YEAR!

Patio Furniture

We bought some fun patio furniture and cushions just in time for the warm weather. We have been eating outside as much as possible before the real heat hits. Monday was our first 90 degree day. So we had two families over for a BBQ and swimming. Today its back to the upper 70's. I'm so glad we are still having spring weather because I know sooner rather that later were in for it!

Clowning around

Hanna and Jake have been playing together really well recently. Carter and I came home from soccer practice last night to an invitation to a CIRCUS right in our very own bonus room upstairs! Hanna and Jake wore these noses the whole time except when they would fall off to which Joshy would laugh out loud every time. It was a cute circus which included acts of jumping through hula hoops onto pillows, silly dance routines, and using the hula hoop as a jump rope while two clowns jumped at the same time! One of our favorite acts was of Jake doing his patented "Chris Farley imitation of run in place really fast and goofy like and then fall to the ground" it looks a lot like the dance at the gas station when Chris Farley sings to "maniac" in Tommy Boy. He came up with it all on his own (we haven't let our 4 year old actually watch Tommy Boy-were saving that piece of Americana until he's slightly older). I love when our kids entertain us and put on shows it makes me SMILE!

Young Women projects

It seems if I ever do creative things as of late, they usually are related to Young Womens. I love working with the girls and having a "new genre of creativity" to occupy my thoughts. Here is a project I've been working on to help decorate our YW's room. It needed a serious face lift. To see all the colors go to my creative blog!

Spring Swim

The kids were able to squeeze in a quick 45 minutes of swimming this afternoon. Between T-ball games, song practices, Saturday jobs around the house, and a fun evening at the park, it was quite a day. The kids have been asking for weeks if they could swim yet. It was only our second time in the pool. (Still too cold for mom however) We bought a pool blanket last week which acts like a solar blanket so it naturally heats the pool for you. So they figured that was good enough! They were sure tired tonight at bed time!

Calling all Target shoppers

To all my fellow Target addicts (and you know who you are), I need a favor. Jared and I love these hooks and bought them for Hanna's bathroom thinking we'd be able to find a third. Three Targets later....no more hooks to be found. Anyway, I probably wouldn't have taken them out of the packaging had I known I would only be able to find two, but alas I did. So if you wouldn't mind looking for them on your next jaunt to Target, I'd appreciate it. I will send you a check for shipping, and the ammount of the hook if anyone feels so inclined to help me out and actually has success finding me one more of these darling towel hooks! Oh they are in the hardware section by the decorative shelves, wall plates, and light switch covers. Thanks everyone!
