If you don't know the difference between a strawberry and a strawberry from California, you may not appreciate this post. After living in California for 5 years and enjoying fresh strawberries all summer bought from the stands right by the field, we have come to know the difference between a strawberry and a California Strawberry. My sweet friend Melissa showed up at our house last Sunday with a flat of strawberries from California bought as they left the L.A. area (thanks, Melissa!) I'm not sure I could have been happier then the moment my lips touched the first one! It was a great surprise and made up a very tasty pie for our Memorial Day!

Hey Geneva, It's Marilee (Lisa's friend :-) Thanks for commenting on my blog! I must confess that I have been known to "blog stalk" your blog now and again too...eeek...busted!! Anyway, I TOTALLY get the strawberry thing! When we lived there I CRAVED them ALL THE TIME!!! SOOOOO yummy! I wish I lived close enought to Cali to have a friend show up on my door step with a fresh crate of them. Enjoy a few for me!
