This is Annie. This girl is amazing. She is the life of the party. She is the gal who stood up in RS exactly 8 months ago to introduce herself with much enthusiasm (because that is just how she is) and I said to myself…..I must get to know her. I MUST be her friend. I read her blog that week (she is a journalist and an awesome writer) and I immediately knew my hunch was accurate and that again we must be friends! I approached her on the next Sunday and very excitedly said something like “Hey I read your blog I feel like I know you now…during this past week something bad happened to me and I said to my self, “I must call my friend Annie only she doesn’t know we are friends yet”! She recently quoted this line back to me and reminded me of this conversation. Let me just say this girl is a Big Blessing in my life and I know we were meant to be friends. She keeps it so real….all the adjusting to living in Germany, life, and relationships. I really enjoy her. So when I awoke yesterday morning and Jared read me an email from bishop about Annie being in a car accident the night before on the way home from the Blue and Gold dinner…..my stomach immediately dropped to the floor. Thankfully she walked away unharmed. As well as the FIVE children under the age of 8 that she was driving home that night. Angels were definitely watching over her.
Today Rebecca and I went with Annie to the junk yard to help her clean out all her belongings from the now totaled Mazda. Don’t let the picture fool you this was an emotional task……she just did a quick “I’m so happy I’m alive JIVE” for the camera for two seconds.

The semi truck was trying to merge back on to the Autobahn and was going very slow, no warning lights, no flashers, Annie traveling 60 miles per hour couldn’t slow down fast enough once she realized how slow he was going, hit the back of him swerved over corrected, and then spun several times before coming to a halt.
Harrison her oldest was sitting in the front seat just inches away from where you can see the damage to the car stops….what a blessing. Her 6, 3 and 1 year old were perfectly fine as well as the neighbor boy who was riding with them. They were all rushed to the hospital and checked over before receiving the official “you are okay to go”. Now they just have to deal with the emotional trauma that lingers after this scary incident.

It was so nice today to clear our schedules and help her get some errands done and then enjoy lunch together. And just enjoy her and the fact that we were visiting at Chilis and not the hospital. Thank you Heavenly Father for this blessing, it’s really kinda awesome to put it in Annie’s words.
