After our Utah fun we didn't want it to end.....so we caravaned to Reno for 9 days. Jared flew home for most of it and worked. Someone has to pay for all our parties!! He's such a good guy for working so hard for us.

All of the grandkids love to play in my parents back yard. They live up in the hills on the South end of town on the way to Lake Tahoe. The first morning we got there I found them in the back yard building tables and forts out of bamboo sticks with Grandpa. They finally got the camp table and set it up for their rock store. They had spent hours the night before breaking rocks from all over the yard into pieces to sell at the rock store. They had prices and different piles for different sizes, and signs for the store. Cutie patooties!

some of their precious rocks

The water day included a slip n slide, water balloons and good old fashioned spraying each other with hoses.

Josh didn't quite get the sliding part of the slip-n-slide, but he did entertain us with his "shake your bum bum dance in the water.

Hunter the crazy man

The other thing we always do in Reno is hike to the "G". It stands for Galena which is the highschool right by it, but we always joke that it stands for Grandma and Grandpa's house.

We made it, but it sure was hot

Jessica, my cute niece, that I had fun getting to know this trip. She is an awesome piano player. We sang Les Miserable songs together and talked about Personal Progress, girl's camp, and boys. I also taught her and Hanna how to make friendship bracelets out of embroidery floss.

There is all kinds of wild life to "enjoy" in my parents neighborhood. This would not be one of those things. I hate snakes!! But when Kandra came home to tell us about it, we all jumped in the car to go see it and discovered it was in fact dead--that's how I like snakes. Even this picture creeps me out. Some of the wild life I enjoyed seeing this trip were the rabbits, lizards that hang out on the rocks, families of Quail birds with the little babies always in tow, and lots of other kinds of birds.

This bird's nest was behind my parents basketball hoop. We disturbed the mother that was keeping what we thought were her eggs warm, but after we accidently scared her away while playing basketball, we got the ladder and climbed up to take a look. The babies were actually dead....(my kids learn a lot about the circle of life when we go there). The mother sang a sad song as she flew away and circled the area for awhile. It was cool and sad at the exact same time.

Cole man was in heaven at Grandma and Grandpas house. With stairs everywhere to climb and lots of people to love him, he went crazy. He taught himself how to go up all the stairs and was really quite proud to say the least. He spent a lot of time looking exactly like he does in this picture....I can almost hear him saying "Heh-Heh", you can't catch me!

we missed out! Cole is hilarious under the table.
These pics make me wish I was raising my kids somewhere with more grass and wildlife. Maybe minus the snakes and spiders though. Looks like you had fun.
P.S. Do you know Karma Martin? She is in my new ward.
