Brian Head Winter Weekend with the Stuarts

We went in on a cabin with the Stuarts for the scout auction in the Fall to get a weekend in Brian Head. We ended up here at this awesome property: It turned out to be an awesome winter weekend getaway

We got there late Friday night unpacked and got organized for the next day of skiing.  The kids were in heaven.  The cabin had a huge room on the bottom level with 4 bunk beds and a big TV.  Then on the main floor there was a master room, large kitchen and living area with a giant fireplace.  Upstairs there were four more rooms with two bathrooms and then two cute loft areas that you had to climb ladders to get up to.  A perfect cabin for two big families and lots of kiddos!
The Saturday weather was quite cold and overcast.  We put all the older kids except for Clark (they were out of room) in ski school for the day.  Even Carlee went to ski school.  We opted not to put Josh and Cole in.  Cole was too young anyway.

After getting all the kids fitted with boots and skiis, they had to wait for a long time before they headed out on the slopes.  They were very bored after awhile.
They played UNO and hung out and WAITED.  The ski school was a bit dissappointing.  They did get some good runs in and learn some skills, but it seemed to be poorly managed and wasted a lot of time.

Once everyone was settled, I went back to the cabin with the little boys and played in the snow and made dinner and read and relaxed.  It was quite nice!  Joe, Kristen, Jared, and Clark all stayed and skiied together.

That night we learned how to play "Ninja" and "Neon Leon".  Two games the Stuarts are famous for!  It was way fun running through the cabin in the dark trying not to be caught by the neon glowing "IT".

DS play time is popular with this crowd.
The gorgeous fireplace...you can see the ladder to one of the lofts upstairs if you look closely.
On Sunday we all played for a bit outside. It was so beautiful.  Perfect for skiing.  Good thing we are righteous.  It was tempting.
It had snowed all night so it was quite the task walking around

It started getting hot even and the kids were taking off their coats

The snowmobilers kept riding through this back part of the cabin...it looked like so much fun!

On Monday it dawned another gorgeous day.  We got up and half of the group went skiing again and the other half went to the tubing hill.  I got to skii that day with Carter and Hanna.  They are getting really good!  There were definitely moments of frustration on theirs and my part.  Skiing is not easy.  I was reminded of this myself since it has been probably 8 years since I last went.
The tubing hill was so cool....7 lanes and a rope tow to pull you up.  Jared said that Cole sat inside this tube for about an hour and a half and hardly moved.  No adults allowed so he had to be a big boy and ride the tow all by himself.  He LOVED it!

That does look way fun!
At one-ish we headed back to the cabin got cleaned up and got it cleaned up.  We stopped for dinner in St. George at the Texas Roadhouse with the Stuarts.  Yum!! Those rolls with raspberry butter.  We were back in Vegas by bed time.  What an awesome three day weekend.  We had such a great time Stuarts!
