The Carnival Magic

The Whole Group: The Chuggs, The Breinholts, The Whites, The Johnsons
Our ship was the Carnival MAGIC… and while Carnival has a reputation of being a cheaper ‘party’ boat – this one certainly was not. The MAGIC was launched in May of this year so it was only 5 months old and definitely looked brand new. Besides – we figured that a 12 day Mediterranean Cruise wouldn’t attract all the same ‘young partiers” – and we were right. After the muster meeting (mandatory meeting to discuss evacuation) Doug said, “Well, I’ve scoped everybody out and I think we can take them. We must be the youngest ones on the boat!” An older couple walked by right when he said it and laughed out loud. Yep, we definitely were among the youngest guests – and we’re not even that young anymore – we have 21 kids between us now. (borrowed from Lisa's blog!)

We booked a cabin on the Spa deck this cruise with a balcony.  Wow did we feel spoiled!  We would walk out our door down around a little wall and enter into the spa.  We had access to a spa hot tub, steam rooms and quiet sitting areas.  It was right by the work out room too which I loved.  It was sure nice to have natural light coming into our room.
The Water slides...sorry kids this vacation is just for us!

The guys spent a lot of time playing pool on this sport deck so we gals hung out and visited a lot on these bright chairs that are actually more comfortable than they look.
You can see the ropes course a bit in these pictures.  It was pretty fun.  We did it on our first sea day.

We waisted no time in making ourselves known amongst our fellow passengers.  The guys ended up on the cruise video that they pipe in your room TV's.  It was fun to watch it in the consecutive days.

Our group's slogan:  Which Brian had printed on our t-shirts.  You would have to know Doug's humor to completely get it.  Wait I do know his humor and I'm not sure I totally get it, but something along the lines of we want to make big bucks.... so we can have great vacations..... and have no whammies along the way.

Already feeling relaxed and I'm not sure we've left the port of Barcelona!
