We were so excited to here that my cousin Aimee and her husband Renaud and kids could come for a few days in Mid August. It worked out in our schedule that we were between trips and available to host them. It was such an enjoyable visit even though we still had soccer tryouts, day camp, and Art camp to work around during the week. We enjoyed taking them on base and to the BX as well as to a local swim pool, bowling, to Teufel’s Tisch, and then on a Rhine River cruise. We love having family on the same continent…. Aimee and Renaud live in France where he is from (about 2 hours south of Paris). We are hoping to plan a trip to France so they can show us around the Loire Valley and take us out for some fine French dining. We hope we can see them several times while we are here because we just adore them and their kiddos!
Teufel’s Tisch: translation Devil’s Table. This is one of our first outings after we moved here last summer. They have the longest metal slide I have ever seen! We felt like experts showing our cousins all the fun stuff here. The slide was especially slippery this day. Hanna wore her slippery shorts on purpose so she could go really fast. Oh my, I don’t remember it being as fast last year. When I went down it with Cole in my arms, we flew and I ended up scraping my arm and knee. We barely could stop before flying in the air at the bottom. We saw several people fly off and land right on there bottoms!
We introduced them to our bakery truck one morning….yummy!
The pool in Rodenbach is close to our village. We’ve been wanting to try it out because all of our German neighbors take their kids there. Aimee and Renaud came during a hot spell here in Germany. Swimming was a much needed activity! This pool was awesome…. Annie, Rebecca, Kari, and Lauren from church were all swimming at the same time too.
This baby area is awesome for the little ones:
Mr. ilan is getting baptized soon, so I snapped a few shots of him to maybe use as baptism announcements. And these are straight out of the camera. Not edited a bit, he really is just that gorgeous.
