More of Bavaria

Linderhof Palace…..the smallest of Mad King Ludwig’s estates, but the one he spent most of his time at.  I can’t say that I blame him!  Its small (in a Palace definition of the word) and the grounds are exquisite.  The location beautiful.  We enjoyed our second visit here as much as the first during last summer!  160 copy167 copy

My little boys have always picked me flowers….I just love little boys with great big hearts!

Next we took a drive through scenery that looked like this:  Wow!

Then we made our way to the country side by Fussen to where Mad King Ludwig had two of his other family castles/estates!  Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein!

We have been waiting for the construction to be finished on the famous Neuschwanstein Castle since we moved here. Its been under a lot of scaffolding until now…..so we were pretty excited to finally see….. THIS:  It is so fun!  Okay so apparently Walt Disney patterned the Disney Princess Castle after this one, but personally I don’t really see the resemblance.  But whatever, its pretty amazing!

Yea so Ludwig did know how to pick his real estate:  way cool.

So we purchased the horsey ride down……which was nice, but stinky.  Always.  We gave Neuschwanstein two thumbs way up!

I don't see the resemblance very much either. And I watch the beginning of Disney movies all the time but I still can't see it! ;) However, it is a gorgeous castle.
