On Sunday we got up early and got ready for church. We met my cousin Aimee and her husband Renaud in Melun France for church at the branch there. It was only a 45 minute drive for us, but for Aimee and family it was a bit more. It was so great to see them and their kids again and meet their baby girl who is now one. We have been face booking and emailing and visiting on the phone to get all the details squared away to meet up with them on this day! I’m so glad we did……it was such a great day! Aimee suggested several places to visit south of Paris and we picked Vaux le Vicomte off the list. It was impressive……. First we all had a picnic lunch together before heading to the chateau. Aimee offered to feed us and it was awesome. Thanks Aimee and Renaud…..we enjoyed everything! Sidenote: Aimee raised in Idaho, came to France as a student of French and Family History….met Renaud, fell in love, and now lives here.
While we were cleaning up lunch, Cole started screaming at the top of his lungs. We thought he had been injured severely, but upon inspection, he angrily screamed that he accidently touched this slug! He was so angry! We laughed and laughed about this!
These gates were massive!
Eowyn pronounced “Aoveen”…..so cute and precious. All three of Aimee’s kids got her amazing eyes
We could not have ordered more perfect weather!
We headed out back first to the grounds so Eowyn could have a nap. The grounds were quite impressive and massive.
Our kids took no time becoming acquainted with her boys….Adam is 10 and Ilan almost 8. Its nice that they are fluent in both French and English.
There were lots of things for the kids to do….try to catch fish, skip rocks, wade in the water, and run and run and run. Anyone want a drink? Actually we were wishing it had drinks in it!
After touring the inside of the Chateau, we had a sweet snack of Brioche and chocolate that Aimee had brought. And we visited a little longer trying to convince them to come visit us in Germany!
ILan and Adam. Gorgeous and cute as can be.
Our Dad’s are brothers can you tell????
Hanna is such a good little babysitter! She just loves all the little girls these days.
COUSINS in EUROPE!!! It was so great to see you. Let’s do it again! Before we could leave, Adam wanted to play some baseball with our boys. He loves it, but it is hard to find in France where he lives so he doesn’t get to play it as often as he would like. He ran and got his ball and glove out of the car and played with Carter and Jake……he was in heaven! I guess that is the American shining through in that boy! It was so rejuvenating to see family even if just for a weekend.

It was so good that you could meet up with Aimee & Renaud and their children. Looks like you had a very fun and informative day.
We also got to mingle with them at the Jackson Reunion.

As always, loved the picture. The kids are growing!
