The Pantheon and Beyond…..

Old….and preserved the Pantheon is fun to visit!  Called Rome’s umbrella since people flock here in rainstorms.  This cathedral has been continuously used since its construction.  the foundation has sunk below street level due to Rome being built up over 20 centuries on top of old rubble.  The dome is bigger than the one that sits atop St. Peter’s Basilica.

After the Pantheon….we made our way to Giolitti’s ice-cream shop.  It’s such a mad house here for good reason. Amazing gelato that is not to be missed on a visit to Rome!

The legend came true….. when you toss a coin into the fountain it ensures that you will be back to Rome for another visit!  Jared and I tossed in coins two years ago when we were in Rome!  Can you feel the excitement!!

After a long, hot day, we dropped off the little ones at the convent/hotel, and headed out for some night shots of the Vatican.  So glad we took the opportunity….I love these photos!
