I LOVE TULIPS!!!! So I have been really excited about going to the Keukenhof Tulip Gardens in The Netherlands. It is up by Amsterdam. It took us about 5 hours to get there. We stayed one night in nearby Zoemeteer. We went to the city of Delft for dinner and to look around, but our weather did not hold up and we cut the night short to get out of the rain. We ended up relaxing in our hotel rooms.
From the minute you walk into the park of Keukenhof you are greeted with thousands of tulips, these shoes, and pretty trees and flowers of every color. It was a very enjoyable day even if it was a bit on the cold side. Thankfully we didn’t get rained on! I wasn’t sure if the kids would like the gardens or not, but they did really well and loved looking and finding every color of the rainbow.
One of Hanna’s favorite things to draw are flowers. She brought her mini sketch pad so she could make mini sketches to remember all the different flowers by. Then she will go home and paint them! She is really good at drawing flowers.
The tulips were so tall! We tried to show the size of them in the pictures. They were almost as tall as Cole and the flower part was huge! We put Jared’s hand up to show the comparison.
They had several different varieties. These ones look like they had frayed edges.
The boys loved picking up and holding the fallen tulip leaves. This one that Jake found was not only huge, but the most beautiful pink color ever.
These flowers were some of our other favorites. They seem to grow upside down. The copper color was very unique.
All around Keukenhof are these tulip fields where they grow rows upon rows of gorgeous tulips.
Can you spy Chopin in flowers?

Beyond jealous. I LOVE THOSE FLOWERS! I thought Jared's hand with the tulip was one of the kids, I've never seen flowers so big. So gorgeous! Miss you!
Wow, those are amazing! Especially loved the frayed one.
Absolutely GORGEOUS pictures! The colors were incredible. I think I am jealous of that new fancy dancy camera:)
I bet Hanna came away with lots of flowers on her 'to-paint' list. Such a beautiful place!
Unreal! I would love to see that. And Hanna looks so grown up, it's killing me!
Gorgeous pics and flowers! That place looks amazing and I bet it smelled amazing too! ;)
