A “Valuable” Birthday Girl!

I’ve been excited about Hanna turning 12 for a long time.  I LOVE the Young Women’s program and can hardly wait for her to get started in it and go to activities.  She has been lucky…. Pres. Monson came in October and she got to attend the fireside (even though she wasn’t quite twelve) and for three weeks before she turned 12 the leaders allowed her to start attending Young Women’s activities on Tuesday nights because they were preparing a musical number that would be preformed after she was 12.  She is so ready for Young Women’s.  She stopped going to Activity Days a few months back since she has been done with her Faith in God for awhile and wasn’t fond of the loud, craziness that surrounded the activities.  Her future is so bright and Young Women’s is only going to make my already amazing daughter shine even more!  Did I mention how much I LOVE the Young Women’s program and that I have such a testimony of the Personal Progress program?

Well….. I’ve been planning it for awhile to have a Welcome to Young Women’s Birthday party.  I got this scrapbook paper from Deseret Book way in advance and have been shopping for all the right colored wrapping paper for her gifts.  I made her go upstairs right after school until I was ready for her to come down and see everything set up.  Hanna got exactly 8 gifts from her family…..one for each Value!  Welcome to Young Women’s sweet girl!  and Happy 12th Birthday.

Hanna is her Daddy’s girl.  Requesting Apple pie is becoming her norm!

I should have written what was in each box, but as you can see, she got make-up, new clothes, My Girl (to watch with Mom-oh how I love this show!), young women cards, stickers and two books, a wooden nativity for her bedroom, and last but certainly not least a cell phone (I think her face says it all!).  And she was pretty happy that her birthday fell on a Tuesday night so she could officially head off to a Young Women Activity. Thankfully Hanna had lots of friends to keep her company in Primary while she waited to enter Young Women’s.  These are all the girls that turned 12 from her class in either November or December:  Kaetlyn Turner, Cathryn Price, Lindsey Bean, and Abby knipper.

love this idea-I may have to borrow it years down the road! You're so creative. Hanna is a beautiful good girl, hope she enjoyed her birthday.
