Gingerbread Houses

I tried really hard to get all the best candy for our gingerbread house making party.  I like to do these simple graham cracker ones because they are smaller so everyone can make their own.  I got all the fixings and had it all laid out, but as soon as we started, I realized that I had purchased the wrong size of cartons.  Ugh.  We made the best of the situation, but I was bummed a little that the corners didn’t line up right.

Cole and I were partners:  Love that messy hair dude!  For the record it does get combed most days.

Carter’s below:  I love the Christmas tree on the side made from M&M’s.

Jared and Josh teamed up to make a special house.  Josh was so proud of it, with the cute sweethearts on top and all….that’s why its sad to tell the next part.  As he carried it into the kitchen to put it away for the night, he bumped the counter and it fell to the floor and broke apart!  He shrilled in agony and burst into tears.  Big brother Jake immediately exclaimed “ You can have mine Josh”!  A sweet gesture from our boy who is always willing to think of others.

Only Hanna can make amazing artwork out of gingerbread houses.  This girl really is artistic and creative.  The graham cracker pathway up to the door happens to be my favorite part, but the peppermint heart is a close second!
