Landstuhl Castle

The Martins from our ward in Las Vegas (who are temporarily residing in Germany on the way to a move to Sicily or the United Emirates), drove up from there village to see us the Saturday before school started. It was awesome to be reuinted with friends from Las Vegas to kind of help with the time warp bubble we feel like we've been in all summer. So good to see familiar faces and get their advice/ recommendations since they have lived her before too! They took us to our closest Castle in Landstuhl close to the hospital Jared works at. We hadn't been there yet and it was actually a really great discovery. Some where closeby to take visitors if we only have a short window of time.

Can you spy the cannons stuck in the wall?
Trying to find the cannons

This is the view from the top.  It was a bit of a stormy/rainy day.  Luckily we toured and were done between the rain storms.

The castle was built right into the side of the mountain which has a lot of red rock in it

Isaac and Carter....we wish you were moving in our ward.  These two are such good buddies.

Makenna hiding with Jess and other kids while they played Sardines.
The ariel view.  They have a stage that they do performances on during the summer months

These ruins were really neat.  It was fun to go down below the ground and walk under it too.  You could see in the ground where water drops and dripped for hundreds of years and made divots in the ground.
Cute Friends
These were holes that they could shoot arrows through, but not get shot back at.
