Trier is a perfect day trip not too far from our house. We spent Tuesday before our big trip to Paris in Trier. The school kids were so sad we couldn’t take them, but school doesn’t pause for all of these travels! Especially High School for Carter.
We had amazing weather for their visit. Everyone should come to Europe in September, the flowers are still in bloom and the leaves are just starting to turn colors. The neatest parts of Trier are the Roman Bath ruins. We started there and then headed toward the center of town and the cathedral.
Possibly my favorite photo from the week:
Porta Negra: The remains of the Ancient Roman gate once part of a wall.
Mom and I came to Trier the Christmas before I was married when Kim lived here. It was crazy cold and wintery. This visit was much nicer!
