Les Baux is a hilltop town in the rugged Alpilles Mountains. It has had a tumultuous medieval history. This location led to a rough and tumble strong community that were willing to fight to protect their land. The Lords of Le Baux were notorious warriors and known for their cruel forms of punishment for prisoners. The castle Ruins stand 650 feet above the Valley Floor. This area is now part of the Provence Region of France and is known for its scenic drives.
La Baux the city below the ancient castle ruins is quaint and touristy and fun to walk through on your way to the top.
This place was perfect for kids. The little guys got pencils and activities on their books to fill out as they walked around. Everyone else got a head set with explanations of lots of the sights all around. Josh was especially happy to have his very own. We usually don’t all get one since they are usually more money….these came with the tour! Lucky day kids.
Right where you walk in they have a bunch of medieval weaponry. Yes each of my boys could not resist picking one to get a picture with.
Such a happy kid with a headset! Josh would wander around and listen to a number and then hurriedly come back to tell either Jared or I all about it.
These were Medieval “Time Out” stalls that Moms created for little boys who were fighting …..or something like that……
A family shot in Le Baux we were lovin’ the Sunshine!
