This tiny principality is only .75 square mile in size and is bordered completely by France and the Mediterranean. It is known mostly for the World famous Grand Prix race in May of each year and for hosting high dollar guests with fancy cars at the likes of the Monte Carlo Casino. We found it very enjoyable to walk around and really had fun finding all the fancy cars! Lamborghinis, Ferarris, Bentleys, Masaratis, Rolls Royces, and Porsches. This was our first view of Monaco as we drove in:
We felt like we were in Hawaii or downtown Vegas or something exotic:
So exciting to see the tulips and green everywhere, because it is not happening in Germany yet!
“Hanna, Smart car!” “Hanna, Smart car!” “Hanna, Smart car!” “Hanna, Smart car!” “Hanna, Smart car!” “Hanna, Smart car!” We get to hear Carter say this over and over to Hanna every time we pass a smart car on the road. So Hanna to combat the obnoxiousness, has resorted to punching Carter whenever we pass a mini cooper. It’s a silly teenager game they play! So when we saw a mini copper parked right by a Smart Car in Monaco, we knew it was a kodak moment!
Carter was in heaven and wanted to “car gaze” all afternoon, but we pulled him a way for a few other sites.
The Grand Prix race speeds past this harbor filled with amazing Yachts (or “Yaches” according to Jake)! There is a lot of money floating in and out of Monaco. Literally.

You made my night with the hostel story. Love the reality of European travels. It's not all peaches and roses. Thanks for keeping it real. The screaming reminds me of my Ryan. So awesome!
