Sara and Karyl drove us to the airport in two different cars since we had so much stuff. G'ma and G'pa Jackson were waiting at the curb to see us off at the airport. It was the final goodbye. With much trepidation, we entered the airport after checking in the luggage curbside. We walked up to security and gave lots of hugs. A few more tears were shed and then we started going through security.
One cute memory I hope to never forget is our mom's standing as close as they could possibly get to the edge of the security and waiving and waiving to us. Every few steps we would look back and they were still there, until at last we could no longer see them anymore. I wonder if it was like that in heaven when we left to come to earth. We had our loved ones waiving and crying and wishing us luck until that final step where we continued on to our new adventure and they had to stop and smile at us through tears wishing us well. A few steps away from the security I got a little overwhelmed and wanted to run back to my mom for one last hug one last waive....... then I looked at my kids and realized oh yeah, I am the mom. I have to be the strong one. And so we carried on to the gate and boarded our first flight.
We flew to Baltimore Maryland and then had a 5 hour lay over. We were able to get something to eat and then we headed over to the USO to hang out with other Military passengers awaiting flights. There was a big TV to watch, board games to play, video games, Phineas and Ferb playing nonstop in the back play room and lots and lots of snacks!!!! Our family of seven waisted no time making themselves at home. Our second flight left at 12:05 EST.....except that we then had to wait over an hour while they fixed some electrical things in the cabin. So at 1:30 ish we finally left. After weeks of partying and staying up late, most of us slept a good portion of the 8 hour flight to Ramstein AFB. We were lucky to have gotten on a flight that the military contracted out so it was a commercial airplane, but filled with all military passengers. All in all the flight was pretty good. Cole slept the entire time, Josh most of it and the older three on and off. They fed us some food and we could watch movies. Before we knew it......WE HAD ARRIVED!!!!

that's quite the load at the airport. So glad the grandmas and grandpas were able to come and wish you off on your journey.
